How we work together

How We Work Together

A clear process, a plan written for you, and support that continues long enough for change to hold.

What working together looks like

You won’t be handed a generic protocol or a shopping list of supplements. Maria’s process is built to understand how your particular body got to where it is, and to change things in an order your body can tolerate. For most people, that means calming the nervous system and supporting digestion first, then working outward.

Sessions take place in person in Beaverton, Oregon, or by secure video, whichever suits you. Many clients mix the two.

  1. A free first conversation

A short call to talk about what is going on, what you have already tried, and what you hope will change. It is also your chance to ask questions and decide whether Maria is the right fit. There is no pressure and no obligation.

  2. Secure intake

Before your first full session you complete a detailed health questionnaire and a three-day food and stress log. That lets Maria see the whole picture, including the patterns you may not have noticed yourself.

  3. Comprehensive assessment

An unhurried first session, about ninety minutes, covering your health timeline, symptoms, digestion, sleep, stress and the things that have and haven’t helped. Maria reviews any recent lab work you’d like to share, discusses whether additional functional testing would be useful, and may offer a Bio-Well or Assyra wellness assessment. You leave with first steps you can start right away.

  4. Your written plan

Within about two days you receive a written roadmap: food and meal guidance, nervous system practices, daily rhythms, and supplements only where they are genuinely needed. It is tailored to your biology, schedule, budget and preferences, and it comes in stages rather than all at once.

  5. Follow-up sessions

Sessions of forty-five or sixty minutes every three to six weeks to see what is working, interpret new information and adjust the plan. Each one includes practical coaching in nervous system regulation, such as breathwork, somatic tools and reframes you can use in the moment.

  6. Support between sessions

Secure messaging for quick questions, along with resources such as guided practices, meal templates, habit trackers and progress checklists.

What makes this different

The principles behind every plan

Root causes first

Symptoms are signals. The goal is to understand what is driving them rather than silence them one at a time.

Nervous system aware

Every recommendation considers the state you are in. A plan that frightens or exhausts you is not a good plan.

Personal, not prescriptive

No one-size-fits-all protocol. Your history, preferences and life shape what we do and how fast we go.

Collaborative

With your permission, Maria coordinates with your physicians, therapists and other practitioners so your care is aligned.

Food first, and food you enjoy

Restriction is a short-term tool. The destination is the widest, most nourishing diet your body can comfortably handle.

Built to last

The aim is not a temporary reset. It is habits and understanding you keep long after our work ends.

What to expect

How change usually unfolds

Everyone is different, and Maria will never promise a result. That said, many people notice early changes in sleep, calm or digestion within the first few weeks, as the nervous system begins to settle. Deeper shifts in energy, mood, food tolerance and resilience tend to build steadily over three to six months.

Progress is rarely a straight line. Part of Maria’s role is helping you read the setbacks, which are often information, not failure.

Common questions

About the process

How long do people usually work with Maria?

It depends on what you’re working on. Many people work with Maria for three to six months, which is usually long enough for deeper changes to take hold and for new habits to feel natural. Some continue with occasional sessions after that for support and fine-tuning.

Will I have to give up all my favorite foods?

Not permanently, and often not at all. When a therapeutic diet is useful, it is used for a defined period with a clear purpose, and the plan always includes widening your diet back out. Maria’s goal is the broadest, most enjoyable way of eating your body is comfortable with.

Do I have to take a lot of supplements?

No. Maria recommends supplements only where they are genuinely needed and explains why each one is there. Food, rhythm and nervous system practices do most of the work.

Can I work with Maria if I live outside Oregon?

Yes. Sessions by secure video mean you can work with Maria from wherever you are.
