Bio-Well and Assyra Wellness Assessments

Two tools that add another point of view to your health history and the conversations in your sessions. Maria uses them to open questions, never to reach a diagnosis.

Why Maria uses them

Your health history, your symptoms and your own sense of your body are always the foundation of Maria’s work. Some clients also find it helpful to have something visual and concrete to look at, something that can show how their system responds and how that changes over time.

That is the role of the Bio-Well and Assyra assessments. They are part of the energetic and complementary side of Maria’s practice, and they often prompt useful conversations: about stress, about which systems seem to be working hardest, and about where to focus first.

Important: Bio-Well and Assyra are wellness tools. They are not medical devices for diagnosis, they do not detect or rule out disease, and they are not a substitute for tests ordered by your physician. Maria uses them as one input among many, and never to make medical claims.

Gas discharge visualization

Bio-Well

The Bio-Well system uses a camera to capture the faint glow of light that appears around each fingertip when a brief, painless electrical impulse is applied. These images are taken from all ten fingers and are interpreted in relation to meridian points, the energy pathways described in traditional Eastern practice.

The software presents the results as an overview of your energy and stress levels and of balance across different areas. Many people find it a helpful picture to revisit as their plan progresses.

What it’s like: You place each fingertip on a small glass plate in turn. It takes only a few minutes and is done in person.

Galvanic skin response

Assyra (Quest 4)

The Assyra system measures changes in the skin’s electrical response, known as galvanic skin response, while it presents a series of signals. The response is used to generate a picture of how the body reacts across different areas, and it is often used in complementary practice to explore stress patterns and possible sensitivities to follow up on.

Maria treats the results as prompts for conversation and further observation, such as a structured food and symptom log, rather than as conclusions in themselves.

What it’s like: You sit comfortably while the system takes its readings through a hand or wrist contact. It is painless and non-invasive.

How the assessments fit into your plan

  • They are optional. You can work with Maria without ever using them.
  • They are usually offered at the comprehensive assessment and, if useful, repeated later to look at change over time.
  • They are always read alongside your history, symptoms and any lab work from your medical providers.
  • They never replace medical evaluation. If anything you share suggests you need medical attention, Maria will encourage you to see your doctor.

Assessments require an in-person visit in Beaverton, Oregon. If you work with Maria by video, your plan is built from your history, your logs and your sessions, and it is every bit as thorough.

Questions about the assessments

Can the Bio-Well or Assyra diagnose a health condition?

No. They are wellness tools, not diagnostic tests. They cannot diagnose, rule out or monitor disease. Please rely on your physician for medical testing and diagnosis.

Do the assessments hurt?

No. Both are painless and non-invasive, and each takes only a few minutes.

Do I need an assessment to work with Maria?

No. They are entirely optional and are one of several ways Maria gathers a picture of how you’re doing.

Curious whether an assessment would help you?

Ask about it when you request your first appointment.
